I lived at FIZZ Hamburg Altona for a year and it was a really good time. The location is great, the building is modern, and I really liked the international atmosphere. I especially want to thank Laura and Sara. They were always kind, helpful, and truly cared about us. Thank you so much!

As a recent tenant of the fizz, I want to just make it clear to anyone that this is one of the worst places I have had to stay in for a one year duration. The building faced many issues throughout my stay and each of them not having been resolved properly. There was a legionella contamination in the pipes which is very concerning and we never got an update on the situation. The community areas barely get cleaned as the fizz altona seems to have no reliable work force in maintenance other than the security guards. The receptionists are the pure definition of laziness as they only provide help when they want to since they have never followed up on multiple requests I made to replace my peephole and unclogging sinks. Few of the many things I have requested to fix. Their unresponsiveness has also been a complaint by many other people in the building. Also their email system never works throughout the year unless you’re signing in to live there talk about a cash grab! They never care to check emails and give generic answers to them if it were a problem that needed to be solved in your apartment. About the pricing, this joke of a company charges close to double to what other student accommodation charge you and it is way smaller in size. They promise an inconsistent room size that can vary from 15m2 to 25m2 for around 1000 which is an absolute scam when there are other places that offer way better accommodation. The state of the building itself is a perfect example of what an unsustainable decrepit imitation of a trap house can be. As hallways are completely torn apart on some floors and horrendous smells always appear out of the blue anywhere you go. The community is at the least responsive and friendly to some extent but do not expect much as certain people are obnoxious and tend to leave their belongings outside their apartments in the hallway. Some may even completely disregard the fact that you live right next to them. Overall a one star isn’t realistic enough to show my disappointment in this horrendously maintained building and company. I would much recommend other accommodation companies suited for your short term/long term stay in Hamburg such as Urban living or Havens (or even try to find an apartment as it is more worth it). If you read this review take it as a full warning to NOT go to this place if you plan on staying as a newcomer in Hamburg.
