Disappointing. Car went in to replace a rear windscreen wiper spindle, oil change and diagnosis of starting problem. Brand suddenly insisted that there was an electrical issue and the footwell module needed replacing. Paid them CHF 650 extra to do this and it didn’t seem there was any choice. Despite my reluctance they pressed and I thought - incorrectly, especially since the messages passed through my wife in German - that this module may have been linked to the starting issue, which it wasn’t. This for a BMW e91 that had NO electrical problems going into the garage, so it strikes me that the issue likely occurred there - voltage changes fried the module thanks to battery testing performed by Brand. When I asked M. Colosi why this happened I didn’t get a satisfactory answer other than “we diagnosed this issue and the module needed replacing”. I think they should have at least met me halfway on price. I also have issues with the Customer Service levels at this garage. As a non-German (English and French) speaker I was made to feel like a nuisance by the lady at reception, while the consultant seemed in a hurry to get rid of me. Contrast this with other BMW dealers - e.g. the excellent Dimab Chablais - where clear quotes for work to be done are emailed before anything happens, time is taken with the client, the service book is stamped without you having to double check and ask twice, and you are offered a coffee and a seat while you wait. Room for improvement, and I’ll find another garage.
