Update: They charged me 350€ as a cleaning fee for a 35m2 apartment that I lived in for 9 months. I am sure it was hit by a bomb during my stay. Even though the contract stated only 250€ for their "deep cleaning" which they advised before the settlement I would be probably charged for anyway. They were responsive until it came to deposit settlement for sure! Even though they said we are quick and usually settle it within 4 weeks max. I have been waiting for my deposit for 3 months so far!
This company is a complete scam. As many others have written, you should expect a massive, unjust deduction from your deposit which they will use to furnish for the next tenants. They falsely accused us of soiling a mattress and charged us 10 euros for a missing ikea spoon. They never gave us an inventory list to compare to. We don't recommend dealing with this company for short or long term rental. We rented their apartment for almost 5 years. There were another couple before we move into the apartment and so, the furniture was already used, at least by that tenant if not more. The worst Hausverwaltung and management I ever had to deal with. We had a WG of three a few years ago. When one person wanted to get out of the contract , the management didn't allow us to stay so all of us had to leave the apartment. Schönhaus Immobilien is an excellent company and housing society. For the last 10 years or longer they take care of our building in Berlin-Mitte. I live in this building for nearly 20 years and never ever any housing society was taking care so well of everything in the building and outside the building. They are managing it so well that at the end of the year we get even some funds back of the "Betriebskosten"/ Operating costs. They are very nice…
Rented a flat from Schoenhaus Immobillien for 10 months. Good communication and fair treatment overall. The flat was fully furnished and in a good location. Deposit returned in full. Just bear in mind that in the flats you won't find any appliances like a kettle or hoover so you'll need to cover that yourself. All good and would rent from them again.
Probably the most fraudulent company in Berlin. They never stayed true to their words. They said one thing on the emails and then did something totally else and upon confrontation, they were like, it is what it is either deal with it or pay fine. Don’t ever go to them.
I rented an apartment from Schönhaus for almost 4 years and really enjoyed the experience. The apartment was great, affordable and the agency helpful and fast from the beginning till the end. If we had any issue with the apartment or equipments they always replied to our emails quickly and came in the same week to fix it. I do not recommend. Very hard contact with the owners, a lot of problems with washing machine and dryer that are common to many apartments. At the end the owners took money for things that were broken before my rent. Bad impression after all.

The communication has always been slow and sometimes rude. But recently it has been worse. Someone came to make a larger hole in the bathroom wall to access a water meter and Schonhaus have been happy to not fix the damage for over 2 months. Communicating with them is exhausting
Schoenhaus offers great, affordable and furnished apartments. Their team is always willing to offer help with quick response times on emails. The deposit was returned within 1 week.
