Disclaimer: This review is based entirely on my honest personal experience and feelings and has been edited for clarity. I have never felt so mistreated by a business anywhere in the world. After a full month of careful reflection (the session took place on June 26), I would like to share my personal experience. It reflects my opinions and feelings only. Others may have different experiences. A Gift That Became an Uncomfortable Experience as Felt by Me My partner purchased a €75 gift card for a 60-minute full-body massage. The gift card was physically delivered to us, which, in my personal experience and feelings, contributed to my discomfort afterward due to how the session felt to me. According to the confirmation email I received, the appointment was scheduled from 13:45 to 15:00 and stated that "It's enough if you arrive on time, as I may still be in treatment beforehand. (Es reicht wenn Du pünktlich kommst da ich davor eventuell noch in Behandlung bin. )" (screenshot available) I had some trouble finding the studio in Tübingen’s Altstadt and I arrived later than the initially suggested time. I apologized immediately, and my personal impression was that Ms. Wallace’s response felt defensive and unfriendly to me. A Session Felt Shorter than I Expected The session felt shorter than I expected. That time also included me undressing, dressing, and several pauses while fans and curtains were adjusted. I did not receive what I personally consider the usual welcoming elements of a massage (water or oil choice), and I perceived the technique as mostly oil being spread without the massage methods I am used to. When I asked politely about the session length, I personally felt the reaction as hostile. From what I remember, to the best of my recollection, Ms. Wallace mentioned that the session time begins as soon as I enter the room, which feels to me as quite strict. I recall, to the best of my recollection, her responding that my question about the session length was rude given my late arrival. I personally felt this was a harsh reaction. Emotional Discomfort Felt by Me At one point, as best as I remember, I was asked in a tone I felt as sarcastic whether I had ever had a massage before. When I replied yes, I recall Ms. Wallace saying something along the lines of, “This is how it is in Germany.” Having lived here for years and having had many massages, I personally disagree. I also recall a reference to the gift card during our conversation, which made me feel undervalued as a client. Over time, I personally felt the tone and manner as increasingly aggressive. Since we were alone in the space, I began to feel more personally uncomfortable and decided to leave. As I left, I remember the door closing behind me and what sounded to me like a raised or loud voice from inside the studio. I felt shaken and sat in the basement corridor of the building for over an hour to calm down. My Personal Takeaways I personally felt I received less time than I expected. I personally felt the behavior towards me as unprofessional, belittling, and, at times, aggressive. Based on my reading of the booking email, I had the impression that the timing could be flexible, but in my experience it felt strictly shortened. On the Reviews Felt by Me When I looked at other Google reviews, I personally felt some began in a similar way. This struck me as unusual, though this is how I feel and purely subjective, and others may interpret it differently. Bottom Line For me, as someone who regularly gets massages in Tübingen and elsewhere, this was the most negative massage experience I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. I will not return, and based on my personal experience, I would not recommend it. This review reflects my honest personal feelings and opinions, and is not intended to state facts about the business beyond what I personally feel and think.
